There are scant details being released to the public about a recent school bus accident that occurred on a roadway in Haddon Township, NJ.
According to media reports, a school bus sustained significant damage after being involved in an accident near the intersection of East Black Horse Pike and Kendall Boulevard in Haddon Township, New Jersey. The site of the bus crash is near the dividing line between Haddon Township and Oaklyn in Camden County.
The bus reportedly left the roadway, moved into an island in the road, and came to a stop when it crashed into a pole. The force of impact caused the pole to snap off.
Haddon Township police dispatchers confirmed that an accident had occurred on the local road, but police did not offer any other details. As far as accident-related injuries, law enforcement has also not provided any information about whether children were on the school bus as the time of the accident.
Although the Haddon Township school district, the Oaklyn school district, and local law enforcement have yet to issue any official statements about the school bus accident, a local news media helicopter captured images of the aftermath of the bus crash. The photographs showed that the bus sustained significant damage to its front-right side as a result of the auto accident.
Representatives for the two area school districts did state that they were unaware of any of their school buses being involved in an auto accident, so it is possible that the school bus came from another Camden County municipality.
Depending on the circumstances leading up to the bus crash, any passengers who suffered injuries in the accident may be able to file personal injury claims against the bus driver, the school district that employs the bus driver, and/or another motorist who negligently caused the auto accident.
