Engine Catches Fire, Ford Truck Destroyed on Millville Road

A truck fire on a Millville NJ road put quite a scare into the driver – and could potentially lead to a lawsuit against the auto manufacturer.

The scary auto accident occurred shortly after 8:00 p.m. The motorist was driving his Ford F-150 pickup truck on Second Street in Millville when he approached the intersection with G Street and heard loud noises coming from the front of the vehicle. The motorist began to suspect that something was wrong with the engine. His suspicions were confirmed when a fire started in the engine and soon engulfed the entire truck.

Fortunately, the driver was able to get out of his vehicle and move a safe distance away before sustaining any injuries. He used a cell phone to dial 911 and alert Millville authorities, which dispatched firefighters and police officers to the scene to extinguish the blaze. Within minutes of arriving at the scene of the accident, Millville NJ firefighters put out the truck fire.

Emergency medical responders with the Millville Rescue Squad also went to the area. Emergency crews are typically dispatched in situations like this so that anyone who suffers burn injuries as a result of a car or truck fire can receive the urgent medical care they need.

Product Liability Claims Against Negligent Auto Manufacturers

The Ford truck was destroyed by the fire, which could prove costly for the vehicle owner and/or the auto insurance company. That’s one reason the motorist in this case may want to look into filing a product liability claim against the manufacturer of the truck.

A defective vehicle or vehicle part can lead to disastrous consequences for drivers, passengers, other motorists, and pedestrians. Cars, trucks, vans, and other motor vehicles are extremely dangerous even when properly manufactured because they travel at high speeds and in close proximity to others, especially during rush hour and on congested New Jersey roads and highways. When the manufacturer of your car, truck, or van has provided you with a defective or poorly designed vehicle, your life and the lives of your loved ones could be in serious danger.

If you have been involved in an auto accident caused by a defective auto part, the best course of action may be to enlist the help of a qualified personal injury and product liability lawyer. A knowledgeable attorney will be able to examine the details of your case and determine the source of the defective part. Beyond that, an experienced attorney can make sure that you get compensation, and justice, for any accident-related injuries and property damage.
